Volunteer Opportunities
Our annual race wouldn’t be possible without the participation of dedicated volunteers. Volunteers help handle tasks ranging from t-shirt folding to manning water stations or course monitoring.
Victory Over Violence volunteer opportunities are separated into two categories: pre-race volunteering and race day volunteering.
Pre-Race Volunteering
These volunteers lay the foundation for a successful race. All volunteers must be at least 14 years old.

Race Day Volunteering
Our race day volunteers fill many roles, all of which help contribute to a successful event. Whether cheering on racers or ensuring event safety, race day volunteers are vital to the event’s success.
Volunteers must be at least 14 years old.

Cheer Station
These folks cheer on our racers and keep spirits high! Get creative and make signs to support our runners.
Shift: 7:15 am to 9:30 am
Kids’ Zone Monitoring
This area of our event provides games and activities for children of all ages. Volunteers keep the Kids’ Zone safe and fun!
Shift: 7:00 am to 10:00 am
Parking Assistance
These volunteers direct participants to the appropriate parking areas and guide them from the parking area to the event area.
Shift: 6:30 am to 8:30 am
Refreshment Station
Assist in setting up and serving refreshments to race participants throughout the event.
Shift: 6:30 am to 10:00 am
Water Stations
Distribute water to runners/walkers during the race.
Shift: 7:00 am to 10:00 am
Race Course Monitoring
Serve as a course monitor stationed along the route to direct and cheer the runners or distribute ribbons to children at the finish line.
Shift: 6:30 am to 10:00 am
